Conveniently
located only a short flight from the east coast of South
Florida, the Islands of The Bahamas are bathed in year-round
sunshine, surrounded by lush tropical flowering gardens,
powder-white sandy beaches, sparkling crystal clear
blue waters. Now factor in a tax-free life, investment
incentives, ultra-modern infrastructure, and now you
can begin to understand that our tropical paradise is
second to none.
The Islands of The Bahamas are relatively low and flat.
In contrast, the oceans are some of the deepest in the
Atlantic Ocean, but more impressive to all who visit,
our oceans are described as the "clearest and most
beautiful in the world". In 1492, Columbus named
our paradise "baja mar" (shallow sea) due
to the clear turquoise aquamarine and dark blue waters,
the numerous brilliant colored coral reefs, and the
pristine white and pink powdered beaches that he encountered
during his discovery of the New World. Today these same
waters are famous for world-class scuba diving, fishing
and sailing.
To
others, these islands are known as the
"Isles of June" due to its tropical maritime
climate. Located along the Tropic of Cancer, The Bahamas
are washed by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream in
the winter and cooled by southerly trade winds in the
summer. The
winters are consistently mild with temperatures averaging
70 F (21 C), while the summer temperatures average 80
F (27 C).

Whether
you play golf, tennis, or simply enjoy horseback riding
on the beach, our year-round weather offers the ideal
climate.
English
is the official language of The Bahamas.
The
majority of the items consumed in The Bahamas have to
be imported, resulting in higher than US prices due
to the cost of freight and Government tariffs. For example
one gallon of unleaded gas will cost approximately $2.50,
a loaf of whole wheat bread is approximately $2.00,
while one dozen eggs is approximately $1.35.
Every
year thousands of Bahamians explore the
rest of the world, but soon come to fully realize
and appreciate the lifestyles and benefits that
The Bahamas has to offer.
It
is said that "there is no place like home",
but
we truly believe "Its Better In The Bahamas"
–
Come, see and experience it for yourself.
