Travel to and from the Islands of The Bahamas has never been more convenient and easy.

Almost all of the major US airlines provide service to The Bahamas:
American Airlines, American Eagle, Continental Connection, Delta, and USAir.
Daily direct flights depart from Nassau and Freeport to almost every major east coast city in the United States: Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Atlanta, Orlando, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale.

Travel between The Bahamas and major European cities is serviced by
British Airways and AOM, while Canadian air travel is provided by Air Canada.

American Eagle and USAir offer daily direct flights from Miami and Ft. Lauderdale to various Family Islands destinations throughout The Bahamas: Marsh Harbour (Abacos), Governor’s Harbour (Eleuthera), North Eleuthera (Eleuthera), and Georgetown (Exuma).

Air travel between Nassau / Freeport and the
Family Islands is provided daily through Bahamasair or private charter services.

An alternative service from Nassau to North Eleuthera and Governor’s Harbour is by the Bahamas Fast Ferries’ ultra-modern, high-speed air-conditioned catamaran.

All arriving visitors are required to clear Bahamas Immigration and Customs. British Commonwealth and United States citizens are not required to have a passport of visa. Any citizen from Canada, Central
and South America, and any European country visiting The Bahamas is required to have a passport, but is not required to have a visa.

Each visitor is given an Immigration card to complete. Once processed, the Immigration officer will return the stub of the card. Upon departure from The Bahamas, submit the Immigration stub to the ticket agent.

All arriving visitors are permitted to bring into The Bahamas the following items free of customs duty and stamp tax: apparel; personal effects; 1 quart of alcoholic beverage or wine; 1 lb. of tobacco or 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars;
and any other items up to a value of $100.

Every person over the age of six years leaving
The Bahamas must pay a $15.00 Government
departure tax.

For convenience, all travelers departing from either Nassau or Freeport to any US city pre-clear US customs and immigration while in The Bahamas.
