Do you enjoy looking at artwork? Immersing yourself in others' creations can be so relaxing and eye-opening. Nassau has a vibrant art scene, along with some incredible galleries displaying paintings, drawings, and sculptures. If you're looking at Nassau and Paradise Island homes for sale, you may want to stop by some of these art galleries along the way.

  • Sixty 2 Sixty: Bay Street, Nassau, Bahamas
    Sixty 2 Sixty
is an art gallery that seeks to support artists of all ages and backgrounds. Most of the work within can be considered modern art. The gallery even hosts Paint and Sip classes during which you can sip wine and create your own acrylic painting. The cost is $50 per person and includes wine and all necessary art supplies.

Sixty 2 Sixty also offers artwork, clothing, and jewelry for sale. This is a great place to purchase decor for your new home or even a gift for someone special. They're open Monday - Saturday from 11 am - 5 pm.

  • National Art Gallery of the Bahamas: West Hill Street, Nassau, Bahamas
The National Art Gallery of the Bahamas is a museum dedicated to preserving the art and culture of the Bahamian people. It was opened in 1996 and is housed in Villa Doyle, a colonial home constructed in 1860. The gallery houses work dating back to the 20th century, along with more recent creations.

The National Art Gallery of the Bahamas offers tours of the gallery itself and the grounds. There's an open-air amphitheater with garden views, along with an outdoor sculpture park founded in 2016.

  • Hillside House: 13 Cumberland Street, Nassau, Bahamas
Hillside House is a small studio and gallery space that showcases the creations of Antonius Roberts. The house and surrounding grounds provide a quiet retreat from the surrounding, bustling town.

Most of the paintings here depict nature—more specifically, wide, open spaces. You'll also see sculptures created with a focus on conservation. This gallery is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10 am - 4 pm.

  • D'Aguilar Art Foundation: 8A Virginia Street, Nassau, Bahamas
The D'Aguilar Art Foundation opened in 2008 to preserve and collect the work of Bahamian artists. With more than 2,000 works of art to see, this gallery is worth spending some time in.

  • Tern Gallery: Mahogany Hill, Western Road, Nassau, Bahamas
Tern Gallery is a smaller art gallery that has a lot to offer. The staff is very knowledgeable, and the collections are well-curated to showcase the best of Bahamian artwork. Unique exhibits include a sculpture collection called Splinters and Shards, created by John Beadle from natural and manufactured materials.

This gallery is open Monday - Saturday from 10 am - 6 pm. Allow yourself at least an hour to walk through. Although the space is small, there's so much to see.
