Fine Dining - Visit The Bahamas - Morley

One of the best ways to get to know a culture is to experience its cuisine. This is as true in The Bahamas as anywhere else. Whether visiting The Bahamas for the first time or thinking of making the islands your home, you simply must dine at some of the local restaurants. Here are a few of the top dining destinations our agents recommend.

  1. Social House: 1 Skyline Drive, Nassau, The Bahamas
Social House is the place to go if you love sushi and are looking at Nassau homes for sale. The restaurant itself has a modern vibe with colorful, lively decor. On the menu, you'll find selections like the Seared Nigiri Sampler platter, Tuna Tataki, and Beef Gyoza.

Social House also has an incredible cocktail menu. The Lychee Bellini, made with real lychee juice and sparkling wine, pairs well with any sushi order.

  2. Shima Restaurant: Mahogany Hill Western Road, Nassau, The Bahamas
Shima Restaurant, located at The Island House, is known for its fusion cuisine. They blend elements from Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian cooking. Popular menu items include Crispy Half Chicken, Massaman Curry, and Pad Thai.

At Shima, you can dine on the terrace, which offers lovely views of the nearby Lyford Cay marina.

  3. Kyma Seafood Grill: Windsor Field Road, Nassau, The Bahamas
It's hard to imagine better seafood than you can get in The Bahamas, and Kyma Seafood Grill is certainly one of the best places to enjoy it. This newly renovated restaurant takes inspiration from Greek and Latin American dishes. The Dakos Salad, made with Cretan rusk, tomatoes, capers, basil, and manouri cheese, is a real favorite.

Kyma Seafood Grill has live music on the weekends and a covered patio. They have an extensive cocktail and mocktail list, too.

  4. The Poop Deck: East Bay Street, Nassau, The Bahamas
If you're looking at East Bay Street Homes for sale, then The Poop Deck is the place to enjoy dinner. Start with an appetizer to share, such as the Conch Fritters or Fish Cakes. As your entree, you can't go wrong with the Land & Sea—a 15-ounce ribeye and lobster tail.

The Poop Deck also has some great burgers and sandwiches at lunchtime. The Just Caught Whole Fish is a real taste of The Bahamas.

  5. Café Matisse: Bank Lane, Nassau, The Bahamas
Café Matisse is one of the only Italian restaurants in the Bahamas. They serve lunch and dinner in a bright and cheery environment. A favorite here is the Penne Alla Monzese, a penne pasta dish with sausage and tomato sauce.

Café Matisse also makes wonderful pizzas. The Salmone pizza—topped with salmon, asparagus, and tomatoes—is unique but in the best way possible. Of course, the classic Margherita pizza is popular, too.

  6. Graycliff Restaurant: West Hill Street, Nassau, Bahamas
If you're in the mood for luxury, make a reservation at Graycliff Restaurant, one of the first 5-star restaurants in the Bahamas. They have an extensive wine list and trained sommeliers. You can even book an Afternoon Tea or private dining experience.

Graycliff's menu mostly consists of classic steakhouse options like short ribs and salmon. However, they also have a few more inventive options, like Grouper Dijonnaise.

A meal from any one of these restaurants is sure to please your palate. If you move to The Bahamas, you'll get a chance to try them all! Contact us to learn more about our real estate services. We'd be happy to help you find your perfect home in paradise.
