Buy in The Bahamas - 3 Neighborhoods to Consider - Morley

Life in The Bahamas is paradise no matter where you end up, but choosing a community that aligns with your needs will make your time here all the better. This tiny country is packed with different neighborhoods to suit any lifestyle. Continuing on from our previous coverage, here are three more Bahamian neighborhoods you might want to consider when browsing our Nassau and Paradise Island homes for sale.

  • Governor's Harbour
True to its name, Governor's Harbour is a key location in The Bahamas' history as well as its present-day government. The Harbour is home to Cupid's Cay, a small island joined to the mainland by a concrete causeway. This tiny island was the site of the very first British settlement in The Bahamas back in 1648.

These days, Governor's Harbour is better known as the capital of Eleuthera. Many public servants and government officials live here, giving the area around our Governor's Harbour homes for sale a sophisticated atmosphere.

In town, you'll find historic buildings like the first U.S. Consulate and the historic Wesley Methodist Church. You can also enjoy activities like boating, tennis, and sunbathing at local resorts like the Pineapple Fields Resort, the Sky Beach Club, and the French Leave Resort. Be sure to visit the renowned French Leave Beach for a walk along its soft pink sands.

  • Green Turtle Cay
A popular choice for family vacations and wedding venues, Green Turtle Cay is one of the more frequently visited areas in The Bahamas. The cay's central location is New Plymouth, a small but spirited village full of friendly locals and tourists alike. This is where most of our Green Turtle Cay homes for sale can be found.

The cay's main recreational spots are the Green Turtle Club and the Leeward Yacht Club and Marina, both highly reputable establishments that offer the best in luxury island relaxation. History buffs will enjoy visiting the Albert Lowe Museum and Vert's Model Ships, two local exhibition spaces dedicated to the island's nautical roots.

Local dining options include beloved establishments like the Wrecking Tree, Laura's Kitchen, and the Plymouth Rock Bar. After dinner, you can stop by Miss Emily's Blue Bee Bar for a refreshing Goombay Smash, a local specialty that has been the talk of the town for decades.

  • Guana Cay
Guana Cay is a stunning location spanning 5.5 miles of coast that some consider to be among the most beautiful in all of The Bahamas. Its main attraction is Baker's Bay and the highly exclusive Baker's Bay Club, a favorite vacation hangout of many celebrities and business leaders. Boaters will also appreciate the docks and other amenities present at the Orchid Bay Yacht Club and Marina.

Find drinks and company at Nippers and Grabbers, two trendy beachside bars that attract small crowds most days of the week. Kidd's Cove Bar and Seafood Restaurant also serves drinks alongside a range of fresh seafood dishes that make the most of the island's easy access to the seaside.

Guana Cay is notable for the wide range of different properties that can be found here. The landscape includes everything from tiny settlement cottages to our luxury Guana Cay homes for sale.
