Must-See Bahamas Islands for Visitors - Morley

Every part of The Bahamas is beautiful, but not everyone has the time to visit every island in the country. You'll want to make the most of every minute if you're on a tight schedule. To help you do this, we've created a list of must-see islands while visiting the Bahamas islands, including our picks for the top attraction.

  1. Harbour Island
Start your Bahamas adventures with a trip to Harbour Island, one of the quieter islands in the area. There are still plenty of amenities like boutique resorts, world-class restaurants and 3 miles of pink sand beach. Locals prefer to take life at a slower pace - island time! There are almost no cars traveling down the island's flower-lined streets—most people opt to travel by foot or golf cart instead. This relaxed atmosphere is one of the things that makes Harbour Island homes for sale so popular.

Be sure to check out the stunning Pink Sand Beach—voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world. A sunset stroll along its powdery pink coastline is the perfect end to a romantic getaway or fun family outing. For a truly unforgettable experience, rent some horses from local trainers and enjoy a ride down the beach that will make you feel like you're living in a fairytale.

  2. Eleuthera
If you want to see what out-island living is like, head out to Eleuthera for a day or two. This seaside paradise is full of lush greenery, rocky cliffs, pristine beaches, and miles of untouched landscapes to explore. We often recommend our Eleuthera homes for sale to those who want to feel like they're living on a deserted island but with all the amenities of modern life within reach.

Make sure to take the time to visit the Glass Window Bridge, a narrow strip of land that offers an almost impossibly beautiful view of the divide between the turquoise green Bight of Eleuthera and the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean. Our agents love taking pictures that showcase this incredible divide.

  3. The Abacos and Elbow Cay
No visit to The Bahamas is complete without a trip to the Abacos, a chain of small islands that spans more than 120 miles. This long string of tiny isles promises countless discoveries as you journey around it, from hidden grottos to pristine coral reefs. Many of our Abaco homes for sale are on isolated parts of the chain, perfect for getting away from the rest of the world.

While you're here, take an afternoon to visit Hope Town, a quaint little settlement on the Abacos' main island Elbow Cay. This area is brimming with history behind its colorful exterior. The town is full of fun stops, including eateries, gift shops, art galleries, and the famous red-and-white Elbow Reef Lighthouse—the last manually operated gas lighthouse in the world.

  4. Long Island
In the mood for a longer voyage? Fly from Nassau to Deadman's Cay on a commercial airplane.

Long Island is considered one of the most beautiful islands in The Bahamas. It is particularly well-known for its stunning caves, the most impressive of which is Hamilton's Cave. Its relatively unassuming entrance leads into the largest cave system in The Bahamas, a sprawling network of caverns once home to the indigenous Lucayan people hundreds of years ago. It is so vast that some parts of it have not been explored to this day. For your own safety, you can only visit this spot with a guide to help you navigate. Also, take a swim around or dive from the surrounding cliffs into Dean's Blue Hole.

These islands and sights are just the beginning of all the excitement and wonder The Bahamas have to offer. Only those who live here can hope to experience it all. Contact us if you're interested in Nassau and Paradise Island homes for sale. Our team will be happy to help you find the perfect home in The Bahamas.
