Emotion vs. Logic

Let’s face it; most people tend to make decisions based on their emotions, then back those decisions up with logic after the fact. While certainly, nothing is wrong with that approach, what happens when our feelings keep us from making the choices that are best for us long-term? Yes, all emotions and feelings are real, but are they logical?

Some Tale-Tell Signs - Which One Are You?

1. “I think I might wait for prices to come down.”

Historically, real estate prices throughout The Bahamas don’t trend downward, but instead, prices remain consistent, and in most instances, prices increase over time. This trend makes The Bahamas a great market to securely invest in a home or property but please keep in mind that the market is also time-sensitive in which real estate values will continue to increase.

2. “Buying a home seems so stressful, so I’d rather wait until I am more ready.”

No doubt buying a home or property will require time and effort on your part. Finding the right experienced and committed agent will make this experience as smooth as possible by walking you through the process to the closing day (and beyond) with minimal hassle.

3. “I don’t think I have enough money saved to start the process.”

If you require financing to buy, the best way to get an accurate picture of the cash necessary to purchase a home or property is to get pre-qualified with a lender. Our experienced agents are happy to refer you to a mortgage officer in our local banks who can analyze your financial position and get you pre-qualified. The pre-qualification process will determine how much the lender is offering to lend you and how much money you will be required to come up with for the deposit and closing costs.

Don’t let the fear caused by an emotion create a mental block and postpone your decision to buy your dream home or property. Instead, “live on the edge” and pursue the excitement and benefits of homeownership now!
